Early Life

Kyle’s father worked in sales for Beechnut. He has two siblings. Kyle was brought up in Federal Way and completed his high school studies from Federal Way High School in 1975. Kyle was drawn towards acting as a career and moved to Los Angeles in early 1980s. He was a very enthusiastic basketball player at school. Kyle had ambitions of making a career in athletics and air force which were smashed due to his near-sightedness.

Career

Kyle appeared as Brian Bradford for the first time in a major role on television in the soap opera Santa Barbara. And very soon he got a very serious role of Bret Johnson, a patient dying of AIDS, on the hospital drama St. Elsewhere. After taking experienced from various movies like Heart of Dixie (1989), City Slickers (1991), Sleeping with the Enemy (1991), Delusion (1991) and Untamed Heart in 1992, Kyle took a big jump as he got to work in Homicide: Life on the Street.
Kyle went on and worked in a small time role in Party of Five and also made two feature films named as Endsville and Beat
During the fall of 2000, for 9 weeks, Kyle came back to the small screen as a doctor on CBS’s Production City Of Angeles.
In the fall of 2001, he also appeared in the pilot episode of Crossing Jordon. Kyle also made a guest appearance on CBS’s Without A Trace.
In the spring of 2004, he got an opportunity to work in Lifetime’s Infidelity and A Wrinkle In Time in which he portrayed the role of Hank.
In the 2004-2005 freshman season of the show Veronica Mars, Kyle managed to get a recurring role portraying Jake Kane and he also appeared as a guest star in the season finale.
In ABC’s Commander In Chief, Kyle worked alongside Geena Davis from 2005-2006. There he portrayed Rod Calloway.
Kyle has also worked in Hidden Palms, Women’s Murder Club, as Dr, Robert L Brooks in Boston Legal and has also guest starred in Ghost Whisperer.

Homicide: Life On The Street

Kyle worked in Homicide: Life on the Street as Det. Tim Bayliss. It was a very challenging role as Tim was dealing with many personal problems in the show and his character was conflicted throughout the show’s run.

Personal Life

Kyle got married to actress Kari Coleman on January 28, 2002. Kyle is the father of two children. Kyle is a certified yoga instructor and has trained in Karate and Kung-fu.
