Melissa Leo is the lady we all know as detective Kay Howard from ‘Homicide: Life on the Street‘. Well, I know it was long time back that the series was on air. Coming down to Melissa Leo, recently once again the actress was in news for being nominated for Best Actress in a Lead Role at the Academy Awards, for the series Frozen River. The actress calls her part in the series Frozen River, her dream role. Though, it is not for the first time that the actress has been nominated for an award. Long time back, in 1980’s the actress earned a nomination for her role in ‘All My Children’, the series that got her famous all over. After that, she did not do get any big role for almost ten years and her long wait ended with ‘Homicide: Life on the Street‘, where she played detective Kay Howard. Melissa even today is remembered for her role in the series. She was a part of the series for almost five years.

Melissa Leo has always been in news for her lifestyle. Melissa likes to do all her work on her own, right from washing to cooking to dishes. The lady prefers a quite lifestyle and when she is not at her home near Woodstock, New York, she is in her home on a dead-end street just a couple of blocks from the Santa Monica Freeway.

Frozen River, the series for which she has been nominated, was shot in sub-zero weather in 24 days way back in 2007. The actress worked really hard for her role and who doesn’t like getting appreciation for hard work. We wish her luck for winning the award and we just hope that we will get to see some more good work from the fine actress in the near future.
